Beaches

Go to Newquay in the first two weeks of September, the place emptys. You have a evens bet that the sun will shine or it will rain. Find a place called Crantock. It has the best beach and just around the corner Polly Joke Beach are fantastic, typical Cornish beaches.
If you are in love its paridise, if you have a family they will love the place.

Studland

Beaches: National Trust

Studland Beach is my favourite of all the beaches in England. It's somehow peaceful and the lively at the same time. The water is calm and the sand is as fine and comfortable under your toes as you could expect from any beach in England.

It also has designated stone tables for barbaques in the evening just behind the sand dunes. The cafe is open all day in peak season and serves a fine selection of sandwhices and cakes.

For those who like to dress as nature indended, there is a nudist section at the far end, respectfully seperated from the rest of the beach by some distance.

Miscellaneous

Great climbing nr Swanage. Winspit disused Quarry offers great sport climbing with plenty to test your witts and ability. The views out to sea from here are both breath taking and absorbing.

Directions

Worth Matravers is a small village on the outshirts of Swanage. Get here (There will be a duck pond as the centre feature) and park up. Take the path at the bottom of the duck pond to the coast(about a mile) and you have reach this alcove quarry with caves to explore.
Its surprisingly calm here as of shors winds are protected from the remaining quarry walls
A must see, Great for climbers!

Tourist Attractions

Dawlish has a very small town centre, although the park, with its stream and animals, is very pretty. The area also has crazy golf, an amusement arcade and various fish and chips shops. The area is good for small children, though don't expect much from the beach - it's small and pebbly.

Kids Stuff

The arcdade in Dawlish is great for kids. It is small but has all the classic games. Its great as it is very cheap so you can send the kids off with 50 pence and they are happy for ages.

Tourist Attractions

A trip to Corfe is a must, particularly for a visit to the Castle. Corfe itself has a number of small shope that sell tourist bits and bobs. The sweet shop is great. A visit to the castle is good for kids and adults of all ages. It's not a long walk to the top and the view is great. Once back at the bottom a pastry from bakery is a must.

Tourist Attractions

The sea front is nice but dated. There are some fun attractions near the pier for young children but for anyone else there is not much to see.

Beaches

The beach is great for surfing. It doesn't get too busy and the waves are good due to the shape of the beach. Its worth checking out the near by surf shops for second hand wet suits instead of hiring at a higher cost.

Entertainment : QuayWest

If you've got kids (or even if you haven't!) and staying in the Torbay area, then check out QuayWest in Paignton, just a couple of miles down the coast from Torquay. They've got a massive outdoor water park with loads of slides, go karts, crazy golf and a host of other fun stuff right on the seafront. Alright it may not that be that classy, but it's a cracking day out. Definately recommended, especially for families.

Eateries

There is a deli in the centre of Swanage (not sure of the name) that sells an onion and hot pepper relish that is worth travelling to Swanage for.
