Portscatho isn't the most obvious choice for many. It is a very quite village with no major 'Attractions' other than it's own idyllic beauty. But for those who value this above all, it the perfect place to visit.

There are plenty of cottages that can be rented over the weekend or longer. It belongs to a family of small fishing villages in between St Austell and Falmouth so if you like Portscatho, you will find more of the same close by.

On balance, Mevagissey is great for a weekend away; its old narrow streets make it as charming a place as any other village in Cornwall. It may be a little small for some, but for me it was just right. I highly recommend it.
