Review of Polzeath

Polzeath is really good spot for surfing in North Cornwall. There is a big flat beach with good car parking facilities and you can hire surf equipment (board and wetsuit etc) inexpensively. Waves are normally fairly big and the beach is big enough for lots of people with different abilities to surf together. There aren't any raging clubs in the area, though the oyster catcher is quite a vibrant youthful bar / pub and often has live music - it’s about 5 minute walk from the beach and has an outdoor area. The coastal walking in the area is very scenic and a short walk will bring you to other local beaches. You can also walk to around the headland and catch the ferry to Padstow (ferry costs about £1 and runs constantly). Polzeath also offers crazy golf and a play park for children. Worth a visit!
